Contact Worker / Team Assistant


What The Job Is:

First Choice Bangor Branch are currently recruiting Band 4 Contact Workers for our client in Co.Down area. As a core member of the children’s services team you will be expected to work both individually & within a team. Your communication skills must be of the highest standards & report to social workers on a daily basis. THIS PARTICULAR ROLE IS BASED IN THE NEWTOWARDS AREA BUT WILL INCLUDE TRAVELING. WORKING MON – FRI 9AM-5PM (SHIFTS MAY VARY ON OCCASIONS). PAY RATE PER HOUR IS £10.20. Our clients provide help where needed & are always there to support you on a day to day basis. This role is perfect for someone who is confident working alone. This can be a challenging role but very rewarding.

What The Job Entails:

This is a diverse role and will include a number of key areas including:

  • Undertake work under the direction of the social worker/team leader & keeping up to date with care plans
  • Undertake the arrangement & delivery of services assessed by social care staff & directly dealing with children & their families within the service
  • Monitoring specific aspects of the plan/assessment
  • Partaking in the delivery of contact services, including the supervision of contact arrangements
  • Setting up the facilities for family support meetings
  • Providing advise & support where appropriate
  • Working within a strong team environment  


What We Need From You:

  • Hold a vailid UK driving licence
  • Have NVQ Level 3 in Health Social Care or equivalent / HND in relevant subject
  • Capability to complete paperwork and update care plan notes accordingly
  • To be niscc registered
  • To have or be willing to attend all mandatory training courses
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced access ni check

  • Experience in a similar role in a similar setting especially working with children

The Nitty Gritty:

  • Hours of work Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
  • 24 Hour on call service that can be accessed for emergencies
