Band 4 Family Support/Contact Worker

First Choice Ballymena have several positions available for Band 4 Contact Workers. We currently have available positions within the family support and intervention team. These roles are based throughout Ballymena, Newtownabbey, and Antrim. Successful candidate will be responsible to provide support to social workers and provide a consistent service to families and clients. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and immediate starts are available. The pay rate is £11.20 with mileage allowance and unsocial hours pay enhancements. These roles would benefit candidates wanting to gain experience and knowledge to further in a social work degree.

 

 

What The Job Entails:

This is a diverse role and will include a number of key areas such as:

  • To assist Social Workers in assessing the needs of clients in accordance with Legislation, Policy and Procedure
  • To assist Social Workers in the implementation of Care Plans
  • To undertake direct work with children/young people/older people
  • To facilitate supervised contact arrangements. This will include driving duties
  • To support parents, children, and young people in developing confidence and self-esteem
  • To contribute to parenting programmes (individual and groupwork)
  • To maintain individual caseloads and provide reports and information as required including giving evidence in Court

What We Need From You:

  • To be NISCC registered (applicants not registered with NISCC will be expected to apply prior to commencing employment)
  • Minimum of Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a care related subject and 1 year experience in a caring role within a healthcare / social care environment OR Level 2 qualification in a care related subject and 2 years’ experience in a caring role with a health / social care environment
  • Be willing to undergo an Access NI Check
  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment

 

What We Would Like From You:

  • Experience of working with children and/or families
  • Experience of working with older people
  • Experience of working in a Nursing/Residential Home
  • A capability to complete paperwork and update care plan notes accordingly

  • 24 Hour on call service that can be accessed for emergencies
