First Choice selection services are actively seeking Band 4 Support Workers to join our clients multidisciplinary team in Bangor.

In this role you will assist the team within a secure unit to provide care for youths and adolescents ranging from 11-17 years of age, that are vulnerable and at risk in our society. The team cares for young Adults within specific units, some of which have challenging behaviour and complex mental health needs. As a core member of the support work team you will be expected to work both individually with service users and within the team of dedicated support workers to provide the highest standards of care to all service users within the unit as and when necessary.

The pay rate starts at £11.20 per hour as well as an enhanced rate for weekend work. Successful candidates will be working on a rota basis Monday – Sunday including long days and night duties.

 

What The Job Entails:

This is a diverse role and will include a number of key areas such as:

  • Working with young children and assist with daily activities
  • Updating documentation and individual care plans
  • Liaise with Healthcare professionals and other public bodies
  • Working to help build on their needs / inclusion in daily activities
  • Promote positivity and independence where possible and encourage self-support
  • Adhere to GDPR and Data Protection at all times
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and Company Codes of Practice at all times

 

What We Need From You:

  • Previous experience in a residential Setting
  • Excellent written and communicative skills
  • Experience completing documentation such as care plans
  • Previous experience with young Children with complex needs is advantageous
  • To be Niscc registered, or willing to apply
  • To have, or be willing to attend all mandatory training courses
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced Access Ni check

  • £14.55 per hour for working Saturdays and Mon – Fri nights
  • £17.91 per hour for working Sundays

The Nitty Gritty:

  • Temporary full time role
  • Shift pattern will be on a rota basis including days and nights
  • 24 Hour on call service that can be accessed for emergencies
