Cook – Daisy Hill Hospital

New opportunity as a Cook based in Daisy Hill Hospital, Newry. This is an ongoing temporary role, initially for 3 months with the possibility of extension.

This is a full-time role at 37.5 hours per week. The working hours are on a rota basis and the shift times will be 6.30am – 2.30pm, 9.15am – 5.15pm or 10.15am – 6.15pm. You must be available to work all of these shifts throughout the week and on weekends. The pay rate is £12.31 per hour Monday to Friday, £16.62 per hour on Saturday and £20.80 per hour on Sunday.

The post holder will lead a team within the kitchen to prepare, produce and present food to patients, clients, staff and visitors. The main duties will include cooking and serving food, understanding and adhering to HACCP and food safety legislation, maintaining knowledge and catering to any dietary requirements, stock management, contributing to menu creation and ensuring personal and food hygiene standards are maintained.

What We Need From You

• NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation & Cooking or equivalent
• Level 2 award in food safety or equivalent
• 1 years experience as a cook
• Willingness to undergo an Access NI check
