Cook – Private Nursing Home

First Choice are recruiting a Cook to work within a private care home in Clogher.

This post offers 32 hours per week on a rota basis. Shifts will run from 8am–1.45pm and 2.30pm–5pm with an hourly rate of £15 per hour. Enhanced weekend rates apply, with £17 per hour on Saturdays and £19 per hour on Sundays. This is an ongoing temporary role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The main duties of this role include cooking and preparing meals using the week’s meal plan, rotating and ordering stock within budget, and maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen. The successful candidate must be able to cater to different ranges of dietary needs, including modified-texture diets to support residents with swallowing difficulties and reduce the risk of choking. They should be confident in following individual care plans and ensuring meals are safe, nutritious, and appropriate for each resident’s needs.

What We Need From You

• Relevant experience essential.
• Must hold, or be willing to undertake, food hygiene training
• Willingness to undergo Enhanced Access NI clearance
