District Dog Warden – Newry

A District Dog Warden is required to work with our client, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council. This post will be based in Newry and is a temporary position initially for 2 months. The working hours will be 9am – 5:30pm working Monday – Friday with a pay rate of £14.70 per hour.

This role would be suitable for someone who has previous experience working with dogs and carrying out investigations and associated paperwork.

What The Job Entails:

  • To be responsible for the implementation and enforcement of relevant legislation
  • To keep up-to-date and knowledgeable on all relevant legislation
  • To patrol the district for the purpose of deterring, detecting and/or taking control of stray and uncontrolled dogs
  • To deal with complaints and queries from the general public
  • To handle confidential information
  • To maintain records and compile reports on all relevant matters
  • To create and deliver educational programmes and provide information and advice as required
  • To maintain all vehicles and equipment in good working order.

What We Need From You:

  • 5 GCSE’s all grade C or above to include English and Maths
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Full driving license valid for use in the UK.
