Joiner – Northern Ireland Housing Executive
The Northern Ireland Housing Executive is currently seeking an experienced Joiner to support its maintenance team in Newtownabbey, with the main base at Cloughfern Avenue.
This is a temporary role for an initial three-month period, with the possibility of extension depending on performance and service needs.
The post offers full-time hours, 8:00am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday, and an hourly rate of £13.91.
In this role, you will travel across NIHE properties carrying out a wide range of joinery and maintenance works.
Key duties will include:
- Carrying out joinery repairs and maintenance across NIHE properties
- Operating a range of hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and effectively
- Installing, repairing, and replacing fixtures and fittings
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations
- Working collaboratively with other trades and NIHE staff
- Providing a professional, responsive, and customer-focused service to tenants

What We Need From You
- Completed a recognised Joinery apprenticeship
- Minimum of 1 year’s relevant joinery experience
- Good knowledge of health and safety requirements
- Full, valid UK driving licence
- Willingness to undergo an Access NI check
