Residential Support Worker (MAPPA Preferable) Holywood


What The Job Is:

We  are currently recruiting for several positions for a Residential Support Worker to join our growing team. For the right candidates this could lead to a permanent role. Due to the caring requirements of our client we would be particularly interested in Mappa trained staff; this is desired but not essential. This particular role is based in the outskirts of Holywood and shift pattern will be on a rota basis with the possibility of extension. The rate of pay starts at £9.00 per hour Monday – Friday with enhanced rates for night shifts and weekend hours. The successful candidates will be working Monday – Sunday on a rota basis to provide 24 hour cover which will include day shifts, waking nights and sleepover shifts.


Who The Job Is For:

The Client we are recruiting on behalf of is a Learning Disability Residential unit and forms part of the private sector in this area. The team provides support to adults with different learning abilities to live inclusively within the community. The suitable candidate would be required to care for members of our society that require full-time care and assistance with day to day activities. The client assists service users with daily activities which includes social activities. As a core member of the support work team you will be expected to work both individually with service users and within the team of support workers to provide the highest standards of care to all service users within the unit whilst there and on trips outside the facility as and when necessary.


What The Job Entails:

This is a diverse role and will include a number of key areas including:

  • Providing support to service users in a residential environment
  • Providing personal care to service users
  • To promote independence where possible and encourage self-support
  • To assist with meal times
  • To assist in daily activities both on a one to one basis and in a team
  • Keep documentation up to date


What We Need From You:

  • 6 months experience in a Healthcare Setting
  • Experience of challenging behaviour
  • A capability to complete paperwork
  • To be Niscc registered, or willing to apply
  • To have, or be willing to attend all mandatory training courses
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced Access Ni check


What We Would Like From You:

  • Experience in a similar role in a similar setting
  • Health and Social Care Qualification


What We Will Offer You:

  • £9.00 per hour Monday to Friday
  • £11.00 per hour for working Saturdays and Night Duties
  • £13.00 per for working Sundays
  • A minimum of 28 days paid holiday’s (pro rata)

The Nitty Gritty:

  • Hours of work are Monday – Sunday on a rota basis
  • Shift times 7am- 3pm / 3pm – 10pm / 10pm – 7am
  • 30 minute Lunch Break
  • 24 Hour on call service that can be accessed for emergencies
  • Closing date of advertisement 29.10.20
  • Start Date for role immediate once mandatory checks are completed.
