What The Job Is:
On behalf of our public sector client based in Newry we are recruiting Band 5 and Band 6 Social Workers. These roles are based in the Integrated Care Team for Older People Services. This role is due to start once all relevant checks are complete. Band 5 pay rate for this role is £12.74 and Band 6 pay rate for this role is £16.04. Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. Candidates are required to hold a full driving licence and access to a car.
Who The Job Is For:
This post is to work for the Integrated Care Team for Older People Services, providing a social work service to promote and support vulnerable adults returning home from hospital.
What The Job Entails:
This is a diverse role and will include a number of key areas including:
To provide a professional Social Work Service to Older People both in a domiciliary and residential setting
Working closely with district nursing and occupational therapy colleagues in contributing to a co-ordinated and integrated approach to the assessment, delivery and monitoring of high quality and safe care to service users and their carers
To carry a caseload of complex cases in the community requiring intensive support to service users and their carers
To develop a range of professional Social Work intervention techniques to service users and carers including one to one casework, family therapy, group therapy techniques, advocacy and counseling
To work with Older People, their families and carers, to undertake holistic and comprehensive assessments of need utilising the full range of NISAT tools, as appropriate.
To promote a Person Centred Planning approach to Social Work with Older People
To work with Older People to maximise their potential, reduce isolation and promote community integration.
What We Need From You:
Degree/Diploma in Social Work.
To be NISCC registered.
Full clean driving licence and access to transport.
Ability to complete relevant paperwork.
Placement experience in an older people’s service.
What We Would Like From You:
Post qualifying experience working with older people.

£12.74 per hour with yearly increments (Band 5)
£16.04 per hour with yearly increments (Band 6)

30 minute Lunch Break
24 Hour on call service that can be accessed for emergencies
